Giovanni was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. The apartment is very spacious and located in the best neighborhood - just a short walk to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon. Longer walk (about 45 mins) to the Forum / Coliseum. Great restaurants. Just enough outside the heavy tourist section. And a beautiful 100-year-old elevator.

The pizza place that was recommended was awesome and we went back multiple times. Overall, would do it again and the accommodations were everything we were looking for.

This is an amazing property that is quite walkable to all the attractions of Rome. The Colosseum was the furthest away but if you are able-bodied the walk is just beautiful. It is also extremely close to the Vatican, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. We could not have been happier. The apartment is in a beautiful old building and the elevator is charming. The neighbourhood is extremely safe, even at night, The host Giovanni was nothing short of spectacular. He was super helpful and even arranged for transportation from the airport for us. He gave us a little tour of the neighbourhood as well and pointed out some nice restaurants and markets. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to go back but of course he was booked:( If you have the chance to stay at Casa Visconti - do it! Thank you again Giovanni, Dave and Terry

What an incredibly lovely place to stay in Rome! We are so pleased with our decision to stay at Casa Visconti. The property is conveniently located, just a block away from the Vatican, is beautifully appointed and sparkling clean! We only wish we had more time to stay. The host, Giovanni, was extremely gracious, checking for any special needs before we arrived and even arranged for transportation from the airport to the property and then transportation to the port at the conclusion of our stay. He gave us recommendations for local restaurants, shopping tips, and transportation needs; probably the most accommodating VRBO host we’ve ever had. We are two Retired couples who travel together often and frequently use VRBOs and all agree this among the best. If either of us is lucky enough to return to Rome, we will hope to stay at Casa Visconti.

Giovanni is incredible host, extremely helpful, meets you at door walks you through everything even takes you to the corner to point out resurrants and grocery store. All suggestions were perfect , A/C units were fantastic , comfortable beds , elevator, fantastic for a family, large and spacious. Property location is a key. It’s a really nice neighborhood with a grocery store and lots of restaurants nearby. Vatican is only 15 minutes walk. Giovanni is a great host with excellent communication. Apartment is on the 4th floor in an old building and has a very cute elevator. It matches the pictures, nothing fancy, but you really spend the day out and about when in Rome. Both bedrooms have queen size beds which was a rare find for our dates and this location and for us it was a big deal.

The apartment was exactly as described, but the elevator might have been my favorite part. Giovanni was the perfect host. He went above & beyond expectations to ensure we had a great visit. Highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Rome.

My family of 6 stayed in the 2 bedroom portion of the apartment and utilized the pull out couch as well. To begin with, Giovanni met us at the apartment when we arrived and went over the basics of the apartment and the area. Giovanni also was kind enough to set up transportation for us from the airport since we were a larger group and were coming in a little late. That was very helpful and appreciated! In general the apartment was fine and served its purpose. I really enjoyed the location and was able to walk both to the Vatican and to the Piazza Navona, etc with relative ease. It is only a few blocks from a central area to easily get a taxi too. I enjoyed being in more of a neighborhood setting that was less touristy. There are 4 keys to enter the building and get all the way into the apartment as well as a "light" card. Overall the stay was pleasant. I would recommend this for others and would consider staying here again in the future.

Comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment within walking distance to Trevi Fountain and The Vatican. Giovanni was very helpful and responsive and provided information regarding parking, restaurants and distance to attractions. The hallway is shared with another apartment so you may hear other guests coming and going. The only suggestions we have would be for the sofa to have a coffee table or 2 end tables and a drip coffee maker and toaster. The apartment is on the 4 th floor and the old elevator in the building works amazingly well! We do recommend staying in this apartment.

This was a great property in the middle of Prati which was very convenient to where our daughter was studying. The property had 2 good size bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you do have bigger luggage there is a small lift that helped. Be patient and read the directions on how to use the lift as well as the locks/door procedures as there are several to navigate. We loved how close it was to attractions, restaurants and gelato!

Best described as a value added property. Nothing fancy.....it just works. Giavonni was nothing short of fantastic in helping arrange transportation from the airport and a private gold cart tour with Anna Maria (Awesome guide). In the quite section of Rome, but easy walking distance to many of the attractions. Cab stand 2 blocks away for the more distant locations on your list. Be warned....small shower and no tub! Definitely worth the price.

I don’t know how to express the beauty of both apartments at Casa Visconti. I rented the larger apartment for myself for several weeks ( Castle St Angelo) and the smaller one for my niece, who visited me in Rome for a week. One is immediately impressed when entering this elegant 19th century (well managed) building with a majestic marble staircase that leads to a glass and mahogany elevator which climbs through the middle of a winding marble winding stairway, encased in 19th century ironwork. One enters Casa Visconti through tall gracious double wooden doors which spill into a long hallway drenched in sunlight. One one side of the hallway is a charming spacious one bedroom and on the other is a very large 19th century atelier style newly renovated two bedroom spacious apartment . The terracotta tiled floor apartment is respectfully renovated with modern features and conveniences, with towering ceilings with moldings of 19th century framing beautiful Morano glass chandeliers..

... from Venice. There is plenty of closet space, the. Kitchen is elegant and modern and well equipped as are the bathrooms. The bedrooms are massive and beautiful with all new most comfortable mattresses. I live in a very elegant large and loft style apartment in New York City in Tribeca; my standards are very high. The large apartment (Castell St Angelo) as well as the smaller one I rented for my niece (St.Peters) felt totally like my home with high design standards, comfort, elegance and functionality. Both apartments are a dream, are in a safe charming and friendly neighborhood and I feel honored to have stayed here. I will be returning here in a few months. I am back in New York and I miss Casa Visconti already. There is a doorman by the way for anything you need and the owner is responsive, answering texts within minutes.

We had a great stay. Central location, close to attractions, restaurants/cafes, and shops. Owner was very helpful, arranging airport transfer, providing restaurant recommendations, etc. We also connect with a tour consultant (stay at the property comes with complementary consultation with Anna Maria). She was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. She arrange city tours and day trips for our family reunion.

Our washing machine was a great addition and the elevator worked very well. A full-size fridge is always a bonus in Europe. The common space of kitchen, sitting area was large enough that we didn't feel crowded. We would definitely recommend this property.

We were looking for a quiet neighborhood walking distance to many of the top sites to see in Rome. This property was perfect. Our host was top notch! Welcoming and so helpful. We would definitely stay again on a return trip to Rome.

Vacationing from the states with teenagers and everything about the VRBO was great. We had a 2 night stay at this property, and found everything to be just as advertised. It is a charming apartment in the heart of Rome, only a short walk to St Peters basilica. Our family of 5 stayed very comfortably in the unit (kids 22, 19, 14), with our two daughters sharing the 2nd bedroom and our son (19) comfortably staying on the pull-out bed in the main living area/kitchen. Two bathrooms to comfortably accommodate all of us. The apartment was clean. The beds were comfortable. Giovanni took great care of us at check-in and communicated very responsibly. Very reasonably priced (good value) considering the location and the comfort that the unit provided (and just as advertised). All-in, can’t think of a single reason to rate this unit as anything less than a 5. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great vacation in Rome; and we would definitely stay again at Giovanni’s property and highly recommend it to anyone going to Rome looking for a place to stay!

Casa Visconti has two spacious, very well equipped and tastefully furnished apartments and is close to many of the main tourist sights but, crucially, is west of the Tiber in the stylish district of Prati, so free of much of the bustle and crowding in the centre. Giovanni is a pleasant, helpful and efficient host, and prices are very reasonable.

Great accommodation and comfort for 6 people, very good location in the center of Rome, Vatican 20 minutes, cetrum Rome with monuments about 30 minutes without the need to use transport. The owner helped us with the organization of transport from and to the airport. Very good choice! I recommend the accommodation.

This apartment is in a great location and it is very quiet. Giovanni is a very helpful host who arranged airport transfers and recommended restaurants to us. He was excellent at getting in touch and confirming all the details. He also kept in touch throughout our stay. We loved walking from the apartment to all the sites and there are lots of shops, restaurants, cafes and amenities close by. The beds are comfortable and clean. The apartment is - for the price range very acceptable, though it is not luxury. We really enjoyed our trip to Rome!

The apartment was perfect for my husband and I to take our 13 year old granddaughter for a very short spring break trip to Rome. We had planned this trip in 2020 but had to cancel it because of Covid and this was the perfect week to come back. Rome was beginning to open up. And people We’re Beginning to be out and about. The apartment was perfect for us. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, our granddaughter had her own bedroom and bathroom and we had our own bedroom with en suite bathroom. The beds are comfortable and there was lots of room and closets and cupboards for our short one week visit. The apartment is on the fourth floor but has an elevator and a doorman who is there during the day. There were many restaurants and cafés in the area around it. Giovanni, our host was very gracious and even helped us when we in a panic realized we had lost the card key To the apartment door. I called him and he quickly responded letting us know how we could find another to enter the apartment.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Visconti. Giovanni was wonderful and available for any question promptly. He counseled us through a couple of bumps in the road related to travel. He even offered to call the airport for us over our missing luggage and made recommendations for an emergency optical situation. A very generous host indeed. I know it sounds odd but don’t miss going to Morrisons, the Irish Pub across the street. The food is great and the ambiance is vey friendly and casual. We also really enjoyed our daily Cafe Americana and pastries from Brown & Co every morning. The Marinara Pizza at Pizzeria San Marcos was amazing! I had some life changing pasta e fagoli and a tiny spot near Trevi Fountain. We also did a day trip to Florence that was very good though a little intimidating to use the public transport and the train. We did it though!!! We loved Mercado Centale. Hustle bustle busy but a delight to experience. The flat is perfect. You will need to supply your own salt, pepper. etc but that is understandable during the pandemic. In other strange highlights, I really enjoyed having bidets in the bathrooms! Thank you Paolo and Giovanni!

Not only is this spacious apartment lovely inside and out, but it is located within walking distance to all the sites. The neighborhood is safe and quiet at night. This apartment is a hidden gem and look forward to staying here again.

The apartment is spacious and gracious, with high ceilings and large windows. The beds, bedding and towels are excellent, and the elevator is a work of art. The apartment is located in an upper-middle-class neighbourhood amidst wonderful bistros, grocery stores, and family-owned restaurants, and within walking distance of most of the glories of Rome. We will stay here again.

This is a large two bedroom, two bathroom property. Great neighborhood. Giovanni was outstanding in communication both before and during our stay. Short walks to all the attractions, or a reasonable taxi ride. Local food markets and good nearby restaurants. Giovanni arranged a private car for us to get to the cruise port...at less than other private cars. Very quiet apartment on the fourth floor, complete with an old-fashioned, quaint, elevator. We stayed three nights. The only suggestion we have is to include a microwave, for convenience.

Beautiful Roman apartment with perfect location in one of the best residential neighborhoods. Plenty of restaurants and shops that cater to every need and wants. Giovanni checked in with us daily and was very gracious. We definitely would use again.

Giovanni was a great host and provided us very good information through emails before we landed in Rome. Booking the place was pretty straight forward.

This property is wonderfully and safely tucked away inside a solid, secure building in the middle of Rome. The Owner met us at the property and gave us a full introduction, explaining all of the security, controls, etc. From here, we walked to the Spanish Steps and the Vatican. Great cafe's, grocery markets, coffee shops, and a movie theater are within blocks. I would stay here again any time I visit Rome again. Giovanni couldn't have been more welcoming and nice, and his English is perfect. The apartment we rented had two, large, separate bedrooms, each with its own bath. Between the two bed & bath areas of the apartment was a nice hallway, living room, and full kitchen, all stocked with hundreds of books and decorated with nice artwork. If you want to be in the middle of everything, but tucked safely and quietly away in a wonderful retreat in the middle of Rome, I would wholeheartedly recommend Casa Visconti to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rome thanks to the perfect location and amenities of this apartment. We are a family of 5, with 3 young adult children and had plenty of space. Giovanni was helpful prior to our stay, clearly outlining parking options since we drove into the city (and the underground parking garage was very close, brand new, secure and reasonably priced). When we arrived, he was super friendly and went above and beyond in explaining both the apartment and surrounding resources (closest groceries, restaurants to try, how to get to common tourist sites, etc.). He truly made us feel at home. The apartment is in a perfect location - within walking distance of the Vatican and every other major tourist attraction. We walked to them all. It probably took us about 30 minutes to walk to the Colosseum, which was furthest away. Yet it was in a residential and business area that didn't feel touristy at all. There were plenty of groceries, fresh produce, great restaurants, etc. within a block or two of the apartment and we felt very self-sufficient. The apartment itself is lovely and pleasant. It has very high ceilings, 2 full bathrooms, new kitchen appliances (including a dishwasher) and a clothes washing machine/detergent which was very helpful. It was airy and well air-conditioned, which we've found to be rare in Italy and welcome on hot summer days. If anything, it was a little chilly at night so we turned off the AC. There were plenty of guidebooks for us to refer to as we explored the city. 100% recommend this property and hope to return for a longer stay in the future!

The location of the apartment was great, we were able to walk everywhere within 15-30 mins. The apartment was clean and spacious - 2 full beds and 2 full bathrooms. Kitchen had all appliances except microwave but included water kettle. Bonus was the washing machine including detergent. The neighborhood was safe and open as well. Tra l'altro, in casa ci ha fatto trovare anche del sapone, del detersivo per i piatti e per la lavastoviglie, l'asciugacapelli... Insomma, tutte quelle cose che quando viaggi spesso dimentichi o non metti in valigia. Davvero non mancava niente! L'appartamento è in un palazzo signorile, ed è ben arredato, pulito e accogliente. La posizione è davvero fantastica: a piedi, è a 10 minuti da Castel Sant'Angelo, a 15 minuti da Piazza di Spagna, Piazza del Popolo e Piazza Navona. E' a 2 minuti da Piazza Cavour, che è molto ben collegata con i mezzi pubblici: ci sono bus che in 12-15 portano direttamente al Colosseo! Gli spazi della casa sono ideali anche per famiglie. Noi siamo stati benissimo e contiamo di tornarci se torneremo a Roma.

I have rented in several cities with VRBO and Airbnb and this is the cleanest apartment ever! That is extremely important to me. GREAT location, nicely and fully furnished, comfortable, a washer and dishwasher. Can not recommend this apt. enough. Giovanni was great. Met us when we got there and when we left. If I ever return to Roma, I will rent this place.

We stayed in this apartment for 2 nights after our cruise. Giovanni met us when we arrived and gave us tips on where to eat and how to get around town. The apartment is beautiful and located in a quiet neighborhood with lots of shops and restaurants. The location is perfect! You can walk to most of the sights and there is a metro nearby to take you to the Colosseum. The apartment is very clean and the beds are so comfortable. Would highly recommend!

The apartment was very comfortable and in a great location. It was a convenient location to walk to all the sites. There were several restaurants close by too. Giovanni was a great host. He arranged for transportation for us which was really helpful. He met us at the apartment and gave us advice about the area and how to get around. We had a wonderful time. Grazie Giovanni

We were a party of 5 staying in beautiful Casa Visconti! Giovanni was a wonderful host. The apartment is perfectly situated in a lovely area of Rome. We walked to the Vatican, the Borghese Gardens, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, markets and piazzas, shops and great restaurants. Casa Visconti is air conditioned and a very relaxing place to come home to after sightseeing and exploring Roma!

The apartment is in a nice building in a great neighborhood. It was so convenient for everything. Easy walking distance to Vatican as well as to Piazza Navona. A supermarket down the street, as well as many good restaurants within a few minutes’ walk. Inside the apartment was exactly as described - clean, spacious, well appointed and comfortable. Giovanni was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and highly recommend this apartment!

Lovely apartment in Rome! Exactly as described. Very clean and spacious as we were traveling as a family of four. Great check in and Giovani gave us great info for the area. We were on the fourth flour but there is an elevator so no worries. Taxi area just one block up so it was convienient to get to places. Would Highly recommend this property!

Great location (walk to restaurants, fruit market and grocery store), quiet, safe, clean and very comfortable. Got there at 11:00 P.M. still left us in. Had 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Apartment. Unique and quiet elevator to 4th Floor. Found on line came here from Pennsylvania, USA. and highly recommend will stay again when in Rome.

Our visit started with a ride in the wonderful elevator! Apartment has tall ceilings and windows and lots of space to spread out. All conveniences are provided. Superb location, felt very safe. Fabulous restaurants around the corner. Very clean. But, showers are tiny. A couple of really comfortable chairs in the drawing room would make this five stars. We would certainly return in the future.

Giovanni & Paola’s Apartment is a real home away from home. It is well equipped, comfortable and perfectly located within walking distance of all of Rome’s important attractions. Additionally, it has such character and charm that it is easy to very quickly feel like a real Roman! Giovanni’s excellent communication before, during and after our visit was outstanding! I highly recommend this property for 4-6 people.

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay in this apartment. It was our first trip to Rome and we wanted a place where we could feel the true flavor of the city, be safe, and be within walking distance of the major sites. This was it! Before our visit, Paolo and Giovanni were gracious and excellent at communicating with us. It was great to have Giovanni waiting for us when we arrived. He gave us an orientation to the apartment as well as to the neighborhood. Casa Visconti is in a lovely area with nice shops and restaurants, but it's also residential and quiet. The nice and clean apartment was exactly as pictured with high ceilings and beautiful windows ,which we opened to enjoy the cool April air of the courtyard. The old-fashioned elevator was both neat and useful! We are a family of five with three adult children. It was the perfect arrangement for us with two bedrooms (large and comfortable beds) and two bathrooms plus a pull-out sofa. Also, we traveled via the SITBUS Shuttle from the airport. This inexpensive but nice coach bus dropped us off one block from the apartment! I would highly recommend this apartment. Enjoy! We hope to return one day!

My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in this apartment at the end of September 2017. We absolutely loved this apartment it is in a perfect location in the Prati neighbourhood, which is slightly less touristy but in walking distance to the main attractions. The apartment is very comfortable with all of the amenities you would need including a dishwasher and washing machine. There are many shops and supermarkets to choose from, trattorias and restaurants if you want to eat out, and a bus stop just around the corner if you want to give your feet a rest. Giovanni is an excellent host, he welcomes you upon arrival and gives you all of the information you need, and he is easy to contact during your stay if you need any assistance. I have also stayed in Giovanni's other apartment, the St Peter which I loved, and my husband and I will be staying there again in September 2018.You can tell how much I enjoy staying at Giovanii's apartments as I rarely go back to the same place twice. The place was near every important regions. Neighbor was very safe and cafe was very near. The place was so luxury and clean, it reminded me of the movie Holiday of Rome. The Owner Paola was very kind and very gentleman too! We are very satisfied for the stay in this house.

Really good location, lovely cafes and bars in neighbouring streets. Short walk through Piazza Cavour into the main area of Rome. The apartment is within easy reach of all well known sights - we didn't use any public transport. You can walk to all the best places. The apartment itself is situated in a typically old but beautiful building on the fourth floor in a nice safe area. Giovanni met us on arrival and went through everything and within ten minutes we were out exploring the city! The apartment is clean, lots of room and has very comfortable beds. The kitchen area is basic but functional and fine for serving up simple meals and breakfast although we ate out every day. We would use it again as and when we return.

I have stayed in many apartments in Italy over the years and Casa Visconti was one of the best. It is comfortable, spotlessly clean and relaxing. It is extremely quiet at night time enabling one to sleep. The venue is perfect to travel anywhere in Rome . Cannot recommend Casa Visconti enough.

We stayed in the flat plus. Giovanni was very helpful and professional. There is quite a bit of room and 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms are large. The bathrooms are a bit small. The kitchen is complete. The living room is ok but had lots of windows, which is nice!

We enjoyed the access to Metro and surroundings was fantastic. Access to food and dine was perfect. Would do it again.

Our week in Rome was delightful in no small part due to Giovanni's apartment. The building has character, 100+ years of it. The staircase is wide, or, take the original elevator, which is surprisingly fast. The apartment has high ceilings, is pleasantly furnished and has tasteful art on all the walls. The wide separation of the two bedrooms affords privacy. The location was away from the tourist action, which we found refreshing. Yet it was close enough to the tourist sites for able walkers to reach comfortably on foot. Wherever you walk, there is something worth seeing. Our favorite thing was taking in the late night scene from the Spanish Steps, past the Trevi Fountain to the Pantheon area and beyond. Also loved the Galleria Borghese on a English language guided tour. If I could do it again, I would book two 2-hour tours back to back. The first one with a guide, the second one without. On the guided tour we had only 20 minutes on our own. Our least favorite attraction was the Vatican Museums. The crowds are so great that you can't enjoy anything. Of course, you will feel that you have to do the Vatican Museums and see the Sistine Chapel. Giovanni is a very pleasant person who was responsive although we didn't have any issues after check-in. We used AnnaMaria, the guide that Giovanni recommends. We liked her very much. We hired her for a day of touring Rome on foot and in her car. We also spend a day with her driving into the countryside to Subiaco and Tivoli. It was a low-key but very pleasant day. AnnaMaria is good company and very knowledgeable.

Giovanni was a wonderful host, first off, by arranging a driver to pick us up at the airport. We had a couple more questions while in Rome, and he responded to our text messages promptly. The apartment has a very good amount of space, good security, and a nice dining area. An easy walk to the Vatican and nearby train station. 20-25 minute walk to other major sites. Would absolutely recommend.

Great location within walking distance to almost every attraction in the city. We spent the weekend there with 3 kids and it was plenty big and roomy. A beautiful old but we'll kept building will get you into the spirit of the city, lots of dinning options all around you. Giovanni was exceptional.

I stayed here with my parents and my husband. The apartment was a good fit for both couples. We walked everywhere except the Colosseum, which was an easy subway ride away. We washed all of our clothes in the washer and they dried within a day. Giovanni met us when we arrived and his restaurant recommendations were excellent!

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Visconti. Friends have also stayed here on our recommendation and enjoyed their time. Casa Visconti is actually a very large apartment that has been subdivided into three smaller apartments. These apartments can exist separately or be rented together. When we have stayed here as a larger family, we have rented the whole space. This time, however, we just rented the smaller one bedroom apartment configuration (self contained with kitchen and living room). The apartment is extremely well located - 5 minutes walk from the most beautiful part of the river, the Vatican, and also Piazza Navona - yet on the quiet, residential side of the river. This means one can easily escape the crowds and "live in Rome" while having easy access to everything you might want to see. Casa Visconti is an apartment, not a hotel room - which means everything works very well but it isnt "hotel room perfect". That's more than OK. The kitchen is very well equipped, the sofa and dining table are accommodating, the bathroom is clean and functional and has a washing machine which is very useful! Internet works well, and the general ambiance is calm. A great place to stay for a few nights or much longer.

Giovanni was responsive and very helpful. He often replied within minutes to any questions that we had. This apartment is located within walking distance of the Vatican. You are also 10 minutes away walking from the tour buses. There were 5 of us and we stayed there comfortably. Kitchen is small but has everything you will need. Apartment was clean and in good condition. Showers are rather small but clean and in good shape. We loved the location so very much and would love to stay there again!

We traveled as a family of six and our stay in Rome at Casa Visconti was awesome!! The house was nice, clean, comfortable, quiet, safe area, and centrally located. There was plenty of restaurants, markets, and coffee shops, all within walking distance from the apartment. Most importantly, the apartment was only 10 - 15 minutes walking distance from the Vatican, Spanish steps, and other major sites. Our host Giovanni was super helpful and always available, from the moment we contacted him, until the moment we departed. He was detailed with all the information we needed for our stay in Rome. He even suggested some great restaurants and coffee shops, and we were not disappointed. One of our favorite restaurants (San Marco) was around the corner from the apartment, along with our favorite coffee shop (Brown and Co). We would definitely stay at Casa Visconti in Rome again and highly recommend it for others looking for a great place to stay in Rome.

Wow this was just a dream come true, from the moment we first contacted Giovanni to his arrangements for our pickup in Rome. The four of us arrived (2 couples) and were greeted by Giovanni . He gave us an overview of the area restaurants, markets, and nearby sites . Well everything you read on closeness is true, 10-15 mins to ALL major sites , located in a nice quiet, safe neighbourhood. We then entered the majestic 100 year old building and apartment which is more than comfortable for four adults. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and very reasonably priced. With cooking facilities etc. The stay here was just utterly fantastic and made our trip to Rome fabulous. You couldn't ask for anything better. Our only mistake was hiring Giovanni's friend for only ONE DAY !!!! ! We should have had her for our entire trip !! She drove us to the Adriatic Sea for a day trip to visit the area on our request. After using several guides an tours for several sites as well as in other Cities it was most apparent that she was the best qualified guide, and driver, and most reasonably priced guide in Italy !!! We wished we could have taken her throughout our Italy trip , but her knowledge of Rome was astonishing , as was her driving . She was amazing , ask Giovanni for her information as it can't be posted here on this site .Don,t hesitate to contact her you will not be disappointed !!! We had booked another tour prior , to receiving her info from a Giovanni and wished we had received it prior . Fantastic location. Giovanni met us and showed us where everything was relative to the apartment. If you want to cook, there is everything you need. some places have leftover spices and condiments. This place does not. There is oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and sugar. So, that is good. I would go back due to location, size, and relative quiet. All of the beds were comfortable.

My husband, my niece and I stayed for a week at Casa Visconti. The apartment is very nice and comfortable with a lot of natural light. It is located in a nice local neighborhood with nice cafes, markets and restaurants. It is a 15 minute walk to the Vatican and 10 minute walk to the nearest metro stop. Giovanni, the owner, was most gracious. I highly recommend and would stay again on future trips to Roma.

Giovanni was great from the time we made the reservation until he met us at the apartment. He provided excellent instructions regarding the bus schedules, attractions, etc. The apartment was in excellent condition, very clean, close to restaurants, close to the Vatican, bus stations, etc. I would highly recommend this apartment. I would highly recommend Casa Visconti if your looking for a great place to stay while in Rome, Italy. Our host Giovanni was very kind and helpful in accommodating all our needs and requests during our stay. The apartment is well located and within walking distances to many of the key sites in Rome, e.g., Vatican, Castel Saint Angelo, Trevi Fountaion, Ancient Ruins, Coliseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona. We took the SitBus from Rome Fiumicino airport and were dropped off at the first stop which is 2 blocks from the apartment. It is about a 30 minute ride and was only 11 Euros for a round trip ticket. Book online for reservations to ensure a seat. The location is in a quiet area away from street noise. The apartment was very clean, spacious and will comfortably accommodate up to 6 people. The two bedrooms were very spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The sofa in the kitchen dining area folds out to accommodate two people. Having two bathrooms was great when getting everyone ready quickly in the morning. Clean bath towels are provided. There is a full kitchen (stove, oven, dishwasher) with pots, pans, dishware, glassware, utensils, etc. There are a couple of markets located within a block to get your food and breads and of course the VINO!!!. WiFi is included and worked well. Three televisions included. You will not be disappointed with Casa Visconti. We would use this apartment again and highly recommend to our friends. Giovanni was very pleasant and easy to deal with. He provided most details prior to our arrival and gave us a quick overview of the neighborhood upon arrival. He also took the time to show us around the apartment and to give us some advice on our plans for seeing the sites around Rome. We really enjoyed the neighborhood that the apartment is located in. Lots of choices for restaurants and lots of small cafes, bakeries etc... The apartment was very adequate for my family of 4 and my dad who travelled with us. The apartment has two bedrooms with full size beds and a pull out couch in the living room/ kitchen area. All rooms had TV with cable (I believe), but we did not have time to check if there was any TV stations in English. Overall a great stay and good value.

Perfect location in a residential area where there are very nice restaurants and a handy supermarket. The flat is very clean and the beds are especially comfortable. Giovanni was very helpful and we'd certainly recommend / return.

Look no further for a Rome apartment, great neighborhood location, easy access to all the sights, spacious well appointed two bedroom apartment, affords two couples or families space and privacy. This was our second trip to Rome, wish we found this apartment on our first trip! We're rented apartments all over the U.S., Central and South America, and Europe and this apartment was one of the best. We plan our trips a about 9 to 10 months ahead, and Giovanni was wonderful to work with, very responsive in all communications. He arranged pick up transportation upon our arrival in Rome and a transfer to the airport on our departure. We were two couples in our late sixties, the location is excellent, food store within blocks, safe neighbor, restaurants, gelato shop, easy walking, close subway. We toured Italy for three weeks starting in Florence, onto Venice, then Naples and finally Rome! Looking forward to returning again soon.

This was our first trip to Rome so we had no idea how perfect this location really was. We were able to walk to all the importance sights of Rome, such as the coliseum, the Spanish steps, the pantheon and the Vatican. We even walked to the Borghese Gallery ( although that was quite a long walk! ) The apartment was comfortable for 2 couples. The bedrooms were well separated with a common space to join together in. The neighborhood is also perfect for having many shops and restaurants that are popular with everyday Romans. And Giovanni was so helpful! He answered all my questions promptly and managed to arrange transport from the train station and to the airport, even when we had to arrive at the airport at 4am! I hope to return to Rome next year and I will certainly stay at this apartment again.

My first review of Casa Visconti raved about the this wonderful Rome apartment; my second review is for the apartment owner Giovanni. I stayed at Casa Visconti, while visiting Rome in early October, while packing up to depart, I left an expensive personal item behind on the night stand. I contacted Giovanni when I arrived home, asking if the item was found , if so, could it be sent to me in the U.S. Giovanni immediately responded back, saying he had item, and would arrange for the shipment. Giovanni once again went above and beyond to offer assistance, by researching all the mailing options available to ship the item. I've travel all over the U.S., Central and South America, and throughout Europe, renting apartments. Giovanni has to be one of the most customer service oriented business owners I've had the pleasure of dealing with on an apartment rental. If your travels take you to Rome, contract Giovanni at Casa Visconti to rent on of their apartments in Rome.

The two couples traveling together stayed in four major cities one in Greece and three in Italy and this was the best of all! The owner was so helpful and easy to work with and the apartment was as advertised; two bedroom two bath and a wonderful elevator to get you to the fourth floor. We were within short walking distance of many restaurants and shopping areas. It was an easy walk to the Vatican also. The weather was perfect October early November is a great time in Rome! Would not hesitate to come back to this apartment!

We are two couples who stayed in the apartment for three nights. Giovanni was very polite and helpful and answered all our questions by e-mails before we arrived. The apartment is very clean and elegant, in a good location. Because of the kitchen between the two bedrooms there is privacy for 2 couples and each couple has a private bathroom and shower. We came with a direct bus from Fiumicino airport (6 euros) so it was easy to arrive. Very recommended apartment, we had a great time. thank you Giovanni

Giovanni was very helpful and informative when we arrived and even advised on car parking out the front. There were 2 couples with 2 cars and we managed to get to free car parks out the front. The apartment is within walking distance to the centre of Rome and the Vatican. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby and a good strip shopping area about 300m away. We had a good 4 night stay there. There were a couple of little issues. One bathroom is off the kitchen so a little inconvenient. All in all a good stay. Thanks Giovanni.

We stayed at this apartment for 4 days in early July. Giovanni is very nice and has been very prompt replying emails during the whole process while I was email communicating with him. Our flight arrives early in the morning (~7am) and he allowed us to put all the luggages in the apartment first and get changed upon our arrival which is quite convenient. The apartment itself is quite spacious and good for our group of 6 (two families). It is close to both Vatican and Spanish steps (10-15 mins walk to both places). It might be a bit of walk for small kids though in hot summer days - no complains from us but just want to provide a good estimation for families traveling with small kids. There are two supermarkets with 3-5 mins walk. Giovanni also give us good recommendation for breakfast and dinner places. Overall it was a pleasant stay at the apartment. I will recommend this to my friends if they plan to visit rome. Thanks again Giovanni for everything!

This was our first visit to Italy and our first time renting an apartment and the experience was Great! The owner was great in responding to our inquiries about the apartment in a timely manner, provided great information when we checked in and was accessible during our stay if we had questions. The apartment was very clean and comfortable for our family of four. The location was great as well. The main attractions we had planned was a 15 to 20 minute walk, which made it very easy for us to come back to the apartment during the day for lunch or just to take a break and then walk again in the evening to a different location. The apartment offered WiFi, air conditioning and a well equipped kitchen. The 100 year old elevator was also a special treat. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying there again the next time we visit Rome. Thanks Giovanni for being an great host and helping make our first visit a wonderful experience.

We loved staying at Casa Visconti! Giovanni was there to greet us and check us in and again to check us out. He was kind enough to arrange an information-packed and helpful orientation tour of Rome. He was also kind enough to let us drop our bags early and pick them up late, which made life a lot easier for us. Thanks again Giovanni. The apartment is everything you might want- centrally located in Rome and near to the Vatican and Metro stops, restaurants and supermarket nearby, clean and well furnished, and, most importantly- AIR CONDITIONED! We will definitely stay here the next time we travel to Rome!

We were visiting Rome for the first time and spent 5 to 6 days there in June 2015. We rented this 4th floor apartment in nice neighborhood in Rome. From first contact Giovanni was very responsive to all our inquiries. We confirmed our arrival time and he was there before us on time to welcome & show the apartment. The building has a cute old lift which can only accommodate 2 or 3 adults at one time, but it quite charming to see the mechanics of the lift on your way up and down. The room is very secure with 4 layers of entry protection. The neighborhood also is very safe. The building is very quiet and the apartment is sound proof. The apartment and kitchen has been maintained very clean. The kitchen is functional stocked with essential pots, pans, cups, and plates, stove, fridge, and dishwasher. The apartment is stocked with many Italian and some English books. There are couple of books on Rome that we could use beyond what we brought with us & proved to be very helpful. It is right in the middle of many attractions. Vatican city to the west, Spanish steps, Poppolo square, Borghese gardens and gallery to north east and then Spanish steps and Piazza Navonna to south. The neighborhood itself has many shops and supermarket. Also via Cola de Rienzo street is 2 blocks north and filled with even more shops and banks. The 2 bedrooms are distant from each other and connected via a cute archway. This gives enough privacy to to members of the family. The shower stalls are wee bit small for American standards. A 6 foot 180 lbs person will have some difficulty. BUT this may be the standard for apartments in Rome. We do not get to adjust the temp settings of the Air conditioners but it was preset around 22C and we felt that was just right. Our checkout was smooth & as per scheduled time.

The apartment was just perfect for our holiday to Rome. It's spotlessly clean, very comfortable and welcoming - those gorgeous plants in the sunlit veranda! Although the apartment is in a building that's more than a 100 years-old, it has all the modern amenities one can ask for. And what a quaint lift the building has. We felt like we were going for an amusement park ride every time we rode in it. And we just loved the location of the apartment. It's a short 5-minutes walk from the SIT bus stop and is surrounded by lots of lovely eateries (We had lunch at Cesare as recommended by Giovanni and regretted not having more time to eat at this lovely restaurant again) and two supermarkets. The Vatican Museum is a pleasant 15-minute walk away, which was great for us since we actually visited the museum twice, once during the day and once at night (very much recommended for a lot less crowded visit and the interesting experience of seeing the exhibits and grounds lit-up at night). It was already past 11pm after our night visit to the museum and St Peter's Basilica, but we felt safe walking back to the apartment. Best part about the apartment was Giovanni himself. Not only was he very friendly and attentive, he also went out of his way to help us in our attempt to book a tour. AND accommodated our request for a later check-out as our flight was later in the afternoon. AND refunded us for one night at very very late notice when we had to delay our arrival by a day due to my husband's work commitments. Giovanni is really the best host one can ever ask for. Highly recommended for a great holiday in Roma! :)

We stayed here on a family vacation. Family of 5 with two of the travelers being 6 and 8. Location was great 15 min walk to Plaza Novona, 20 min. walk to St. Peter's and striking distance to most everything. Also, near a metro stop you can use. Also, some great local restaurants in the area. There are tourists everywhere in Rome but the Pratti district is a good mix of businesses, schools, and government places so you can get a real feel for Rome.

We had a perfect weekend in Rome and a perfect stay in this appartment! The location is in the centre, ideal for all the beautiful site seeings in Rome, shopping, all the choice you could wish in bars and restaurants. The apartment has a lot of space with the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, ideal for a family off 4 or 2 couples. Everything you need is in the appartment, it is clean and fresh, warm when it is cold outside and cool when it is warm outside. Giovanni is very friendly and helpful, thank you!

Very clean and well-appointed apartment. Giovanni, the host, was superb. Very helpful, very accessible, quick to respond and was very flexible. He couldn't be more helpful. The apartment is in the wonderful Prati area - just a little outside the dense touristy areas - which we were happy about. A bus stop a block away gets you to many desirable sites. the Lepanto metro stop is a 5 minute walk - no problem. Couldn't be happier.

Abbiamo soggiornato a a casa Visconti solo pochi giorni nell'appartamento Sant'Angelo. La sistemazione ( 2 camere da letto ,ampio soggiorno cucina , 2 bagni) era l'ideale per le nostre esigenze . L'appartamento è pulito,caldo e accogliente, dotato di tutti i confort e situato in posizione strategica per girare a Roma. Ci siamo mossi quasi sempre a piedi e comunque la fermata della metro è a pochi minuti dalla casa. Inoltre è situato in una zona tranquilla pur essendo così centrale. Giovanni è stato gentilissimo e disponibile. Ci torneremmo volentieri e lo consiglieremmo sicuramente, anche per la possibilità di ospitare un maggior numero di persone .

Séjour parfait d'une semaine à la casa Visconti. Giovanni est un hôte charmant et très sympathique, établissement du contrat très facile, aucune mauvaise surprise. La casa Visconti est un bel immeuble, sécurisé, avec un adorable ascenseur offrant une petite banquette ( très bienvenue quand on revient d'une journée où on a accumulé les kilomètres ) L'appartement est très propre, calme et bien équipé ( petit bémol pour le canapé un petit peu inconfortable) Le quartier est parfait, commerces et restaurants à proximité; le marché couvert est à huit minutes, produits très frais et alléchants! Le gros point fort de la casa Visconti est sa situation stratégique pour tout visiter à pied en prenant différents ponts. La station de taxi de la piazza Cavour est à deux minutes pour le retour à l'aéroport ( c'est le moment le plus triste..) Bref une très bonne adresse où je retournerai lors de mon prochain séjour! We were so pleased with this beautiful apartment. It is located in a wonderful residential neighborhood with an easy walk to the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. We loved the small coffee shop that was a block away. Giovanni is a wonderful host and he had everything in impeccable order. The elevator was great because my mother has a bad knee and any stairs would be hard for her to manage. I would recommend having him set up your transportation to the apartment from the airport if that is how you are arriving in Rome. Our driver was fantastic and gave us a lot of tips for our trip. We loved Rome and when we return we will stay at Casa Visconti.

What a wonderful time we had in Rome, what made it so special was our choice in flats/apartment. Casa Visconti could not have been any better, Giovanni was an excellent host and concierge. Casa Visconti is centrally located and very beautiful and safe. If your planning a trip to Rome and your choice is not Casa Visconti you made the wrong choice.

This apartment/flat was the absolute best and Giovanni was extremely helpful and gracious!!! We loved our stay in Rome and if we return we will rent this flat again. It is located in a perfect area; easy walk to the Vatican as well as the Colosseum on the other end of the city. If you do not care to walk, the Metro is a few blocks away for easy access. As the previous review mentioned, the flat is a block away from a fresh fruit and vegetable market, two blocks from a grocery store, and two blocks from the best Gelato store in Rome. The apartment is great for families or friends with the multiple rooms. Air conditioning worked great during the hot days and the free Wi-fi access worked perfect. All in all, this place was perfect!

Loved this flat rental. Easy to walk to most of the attractions. Quiet neighborhood with great restaurants and grocery stores. Giovanni was a fantastic host, printing tour tickets for us and taking care of everything we needed. Highly recommend this flat and we'll be back!

We had a lovely time staying in the apartment in Rome which was very spacious and had all we needed. Was close to the Metro which was very easy to use. Also good for visiting the Vatican museums, St Peter's Basilica and Castel Sant'Angelo. A good selection of local shops and restaurants were within easy walking distance. Hope to visit again one day!

I apologize for not being able to find where to add the feedback sooner!! Months later, we still speak of our wonderful time in Rome! My family spent 3 weeks traveling Europe from WA state, and the time we spent in Rome was by far our favorite! Our girls are 7 and 9 years old. Not one time did we feel unsafe, only quite at home and comfortable. Giovanni was easily accessible via email, to answer any question. The apartment is in a beautiful building in a nice residential part of the Prati district. LOVE the little nearby store with fresh pasta and breads- ask Giovanni!! We easily walked to The Vatican and all sites (The Coloseum, Forum, Spanish Steps, Pantheon and more) Our girls are good walkers/explorers, and we made stops for gelato to keep them going; but the walking is not unrealistic for a reasonable healthy and motivated adult. The washer is unique, but did the job, and we hung our laundry outside like the neighbors. We did not want to leave, and when in Rome again, we WILL seek out this flat! Use his car service from the airport, not driving thru the city is worth it! Thank you Giovanni

We rented this apartment from April 5 to 12, and we could not ask for more! All major attractions are within walking distance, as well as the metro station. The area is great and calm, but there is still a lot of restaurants, a grocery store nearby, as well as a cute little fruit store, a cafè, a local market... everything is within walking distance! Ideal location to visit and enjoy the charms of the city! The building is very well maintained, just like the apartment. Everything was spotless and we really enjoyed the welcome of Giovanni. We spent a fantastic week! I recommend this apartment without a doubt! Grazie Giovanni!

Hemos estado una semana y ha sido una gran elección. Muy bien situado, llegas andando al vaticano, plaza navona y alrededores y para otros sitios como coliseo o trastevere tienes cerca metro y bus. Muy limpio y con encanto. Tenía WiFi y dos baños, indispensable en nuestro caso en el que íbamos 2 parejas y un peque. Además Giovanni es muy amable, nuestro avión llegaba muy temprano y nos dejó hacer el check in sin problemas ni coste extra! El ascensor es una pasada y el barrio tranquilo y con tiendas y restaurantes muy a mano. Sólo un pero: no tiene microondas, por lo demás, me parece una gran elección. Gracias Giovanni por la estupenda acogida.

I am not the first to rate Giovanni's apartment with 5 stars, and I shan't be the last, I am sure. My partner and I stayed there a total of six nights and loved the comfort of the place, its privacy and quiet, the location (all major sights in Rome are reachable on foot in 15-20 minutes), the local shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarket, and so on. I could write more but I would only repeat what so many have said already and whose opinion made us choose Casa Visconti in the first place--a choice that turned out to be very satisfying for us in all respects. Our biggest problem was getting a hot cappuccino anywhere in Italy...You can't have it all, so we changed to drinking excellent, hot black coffee after we realized that Italians drink their cappuccino lukewarm. Be warned, but have no worries whatsoever about staying at this cozy, and elegant apartment. It's real value for money, and is located in a lovely neighbourhood. If you arrive by taxi from Rome's Termini Train Station, it will cost you about 15-18 Euros or so, and take 15-20 minutes. Giovanni's excellent driver's (whom we paid directly) charged us 50 Euros from and back to the airport, when public taxis charge 48 Euros plus a charge for luggage.

Stayed at Casa Visconti with the family (including 2 young children) in February. The location is actually very good as it is close to Vatican City or a short taxi or metro to central Rome. We found the apartment very clean and spacious, and the kids enjoyed themselves, with plenty of room to run around. They also loved the elevator... We only stayed about 4 days in Rome this time around, but I will keep in mind Casa Visconti for a longer stay, perhaps next year!

We stayed in this lovely apartment to celebrate Christmas and New Years in Rome. Giovanni (owner) is amazing and very helpful. He answered all of my email questions quickly before we booked the apartment and he even arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport. All the agreements and fees were up front and in writing. He met us at the apartment on the day we arrived and gave us an overview of the home. The building is in the Prati part of Rome which is very near the Vatican. We chose this location to be in more of a neighborhood as opposed to with all of the tourists in hotels. That being said we were able to get to all of the sites with 15 to 20 minutes of walking. We walked home very late most nights and never worried for our security. The apartment itself is very comfortable and was more than enough space for my wife and I. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed. The bedroom windows have wooden shutters that can block almost all of the light. We really appreciated this while dealing with jet lag! Everything is clean and well maintained. The apartment is on the 5th floor and there is an elevator that works great for hauling luggage or shopping. There is a neighborhood market close by to stock up the pantry and many cafes to chose from and enjoy an espresso. We had no trouble finding delicious food choices all around as well. This location really gives you the feeling that you are a citizen of Rome as opposed to a tourist, but you can still get to all of the sites very quickly and easily. Giovanni is a very conscientious owner and you can tell he takes great pride in his apartment and his high level of customer service. I would rate this 6 stars if I could and would not hesitate to recommend this location and Giovanni to any friends and family considering a trip to Rome.

Excellent location, easy to walk everywhere in Rome. Quiet at night in a genteel neighbourhood. The apartment was super clean, very comfortable beds (very firm) - looks just like the pictures. . Very spacious allowing for a family to not feel cramped. We loved the original art on the walls, the tall ceilings and the privacy (no road noise). Giovanni was welcoming and arranged car service from the airport. We highly recommend this comfortable and convenient apartment.

This apartment was recommended to us by our daughter who enjoyed a week there a couple of years ago. It didn't disappoint. My husband, my brother and I spent a wonderful week in this charming apartment. Its versatile floor plan allowed my brother the privacy of a large bedroom/en suite with separate entrance, and to join my husband and I for meals and relaxing together. Everything we needed was provided. Full washing facilities: washing machine, iron, ironing board (no dryer, but a large portable clothesline with pegs); dishwasher; fully equipped kitchen (if one could be bothered cooking with all those wonderful restaurants and delis a few steps away from the front door). The furnishings were elegant, comfortable and the apartment spotlessly clean. And, NOT least, free and strong WiFi connection to all our electronic gadgets. The location was perfect for us. The area was not clogged by tourists; the many shops and restaurants suited us exactly. We were able to walk to many famous sites and catch the metro to those a bit further afield. In the evenings we strolled by the Tiber where there were market stalls and entertainers. Giovanni is an excellent host; emailing us detailed instructions to make sure we found the place; meeting us on arrival, explaining everything we needed to know (including how to work the beautiful, antique lift) and where all the best eating places are. He also organised our transport back to the airport after an all too short visit to Rome. I would certainly recommend this apartment to family and friends; indeed I hope to return there myself in the not too distant future!

Four of us split two portions of Casa Visconti - the San Angelo suite for a wonderful stay in a portion of the Prati neighborhood a couple from Ponte Umberto across the TIber from most of the sites in the city. Walking to Spanish Steps, Trevi, even the Coliseum (we did take cab home). Vatican CIty is very close, and Trastavere also within walking distance. Beds were good, building quiet and charming. Good restaurant - San Marco a block away, along with markets and shopping, but out of hustle and bustle across the river. Giovanni could not have been more accomodation and cheerful - helped us with car from airport and very good rate. Thanks again for all your assistance! We all agreed that we would return, given the chance.

We were very fortunate to find Casa Visconti. We stayed here for 4 nights -- our first time in awe-inspiring Rome! The location was very central and convenient-one can take a leisurely walk to St. Peters Basilica, while walking through a major road, lined with many stores and cafes. The apartment is near Castel Sant'Angelo, and one can also walk to Plaza Navona, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. There is easy access to the metro as well. The apartment was clean and orderly. The high ceilings added to the spaciousness and elegance of the place, and aptly decorated. We were comfortable throughout our stay. We were not able to use the kitchen facilities—by choice—as we ate out all the time for all meals. But should you decide to ‘eat in’ there will be sufficient amenities for your use. Very safe location. Every day we came back close to midnight and we felt safe all the time in our walks. The owners, Giovanni and Paola, were truly a pleasure to deal with, right from the beginning when contracts were being drawn and throughout our entire stay. Giovanni was consistently responsive to EVERY inquiry I sent by email. Every question I sent was answered promptly and with careful detail---I really appreciated this. We emailed back and forth about arrangements, directions to the place, and he even sent information about the best train to take to get from Venice to Rome. Giovanni welcomed us at the doorstep upon our arrival and first oriented us to directions for the major sites in Rome. He showed us the apartment—how to operate the lift (which was nifty at a hundred years old—but worked just perfect!). He also made suggestions for good chocolate, wine and cheese shops, as well as good restaurants. He was available by email or text throughout our stay. Giovanni personally made the airport transfer for our early morning flight at 6:45 am—He drove from his house to pick us up at 4 am promptly and got us safely to the airport on time. He was a pleasant person to speak with –he felt more of a family host than just a mere proprietor. It was a very pleasant first time visit to Rome, albeit too short a stay. Four days is a bit cramped, but we made the best of those four days and saw the major sites. We would not have stayed anywhere else and would come back again and stay here if given the chance. We were in Rome for a week with our two adult daughters. It was a great pleasure for us to stay in the Sant'Angelo Plus apartment. This is in fact a combination of two apartments with a connecting door. Our daughters had their own bedroom and bathroom, separated from the bigger apartment with kitchen, living room and, of course, bedroom and bathroom for the parents. Everything you need for your stay is there - fully equipped kitchen (but no microwave in Sant'Angelo Plus), bathroom including washing machine, and really enough space for all of us. You should know that Sant'Angelo Plus has windows only to an inner courtyard, therefore don't expect spectacular views. The apartment is located on the fourth floor. There is an elevator available, so that's not an issue. The house is quiet, seems to be safe (doors were locked, and in the daytime there was even a concierge). A supermarket is around the corner, and it's well-located for all the sightseeing trips you might want to do in Rome. You can reach a lot of the places of interest by feet within 15-30 minutes (especially the Vatican area, the Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, ..), but it's also no problem to use public transportation. Metro station and bus stops are near-by; the busses come really often and we never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. We bought a roma pass that includes a three day ticket for the busses, and that worked out fine. Giovanni is a very nice, obliging and polite host. It was easy to make arrangements with him. He expected us when we arrived and explained us everything. At the departure day, it was possible to leave our luggage in apartment till the afternoon. We strongly recommend to use the SITbus shuttle from the airport. The bus stop is near the apartement.

What a great apartment! Location was convenient to the Vatican, Castel St. Angelo, Spanish Steps, Villa Borghese, Patheon all within a 15-20 minute walk through Old Rome! Subway 5-10 minute walk. Many restaurants, groceries, produce within a short walk. Giovanni was very helpful through the rental process and during the week. When we arrived, he was there and check in was very efficient. You can walk everywhere in Rome. We stayed there with our 2 teenage sons, age 16-18, nice neighborhood! The boys walked home one night without us, while we shopped. Large refrigerator and freezer, well stocked kitchen for cooking-if you choose. I highly recommend this property!

We had a wonderful 5 days in the heart of Rome. Giovanni was extremely helpful from our initial enquiry email, through to checking out. The apartment was spotlessly clean, and beautifully presented. It is set in a traditional 100 year old Roman building, complete with old fashioned cage lift with a sofa! The building is very secure, with a daily porter, and once inside the apartment it feels more like being in a large hotel suite - but with the added bonus of a kitchen, living & dining area. The local area is brilliant and we spent much time in the pasticcheria, and local shops buying cheese, meat & wine at very reasonable prices. This apartment is in a perfect location (10 minutes to the Vatican, 15 to Piazza Navona), we walked everywhere and conveniently the shuttle bus to Rome Fiumicino airport leaves from just around the corner. Great value for money in the centre of Rome, we will definitely recommend Giovanni's apartment to friends and family, and will return ourselves! Grazie Giovanni!

We stay 6 nights at Casa Visconti and we couldn't have better location : near Vatican, all touristic sites are close from the appartment, you don't have to use subway. The appartment is really clean and very spacious (we were 6 adults). The kitchen is well equipped and the two bathrooms were a plus! Giovanni was really professional and helpful to prepare our trip. Romeo, who met us at our arrival, was very kind and recommends us great location to eat. Lots of restaurants and shops on the neighbourhood. If we need to come back to Rome, I will stay here for sure !

The apartment and building were clean, quiet, welcoming, and plenty big for 2 people. All of the accommodations were comfortable. The location was excellent! Very close to the Vatican and most other major attractions of Roma were within reasonable walking distance. We also cannot say enough about the apartment manager, Romeo. He met us on the curb in front of the apartment and made us feel as though we were his personal friends. He was available if we had questions and made some excellent recommendations for sights and restaurants around the city. If he comes to our area in the US (as we know he plans to) he would be welcome in our house like family. When we return to Roma we will stay here again.

A wonderful apartment (1 bedroom) with all the amenities and right in the middle of everything you want to see in Rome. The old lift is charming and works like a charm, security never in question and walking all over Rome we never felt unsecure. El área donde esta situado el departamento es muy segura. No necesitamos de transporte público mas que para ir al Coliseo, pero de ahi en fuera todo lo conocimos a pie y estuvo muy bien. Giovanni se toma el tiempo de darte muy buenas recomendaciones.

We really enjoyed Rome staying in this apartment. The location is great. We did not use public transportation, we did everything walking. The apartment was clean and we were really grateful that Giovanni took the time to give us excellent recommendations. The details in the apartment were great.

We stayed in the this apartment over Thanksgiving weekend. We had 4 adults and 2 children (ages 10 and 13). We found the apartment easily and it was a short 5 minute walk from the SIT bus stop (direct 6 euro transport from the FCO airport). Giovanni greeted us on arrival and gave us a short orientation to the neighborhood. There is a small supermarket nearby which was very useful. He gave us a tour of the apartment and its features. He sat down with us and went over a local map and pointed out nearby attractions. He provided us with his cell phone number to call if we had any problems. He was a very welcoming host. We provided the remainder of our payment and a security deposit, which he promptly returned upon checkout. One of the bedrooms had its own bathroom. The other bathroom is located off the kitchen. The kids slept comfortably on the pull out couch in the living room. Each bedroom had closet space and luggage racks set up to set a piece of luggage on. We enjoyed the use of the small kitchen with fridge and stocked it with water and snacks from the local supermarket nearby. There were plates, cups, silverware, pots, and pans. There is a washing machine if you need to use it. The water pressure is low but the building is over 100 years old so that is expected. The apartment has been renovated and is very nice. There is a small elevator to carry luggage up to the apartment. The front door of the building is staffed with a doorman and is very secure. The neighborhood is safe and there are plenty of ristorantes and cafes nearby. The nearest metro stop is Lepanto, which is about a 8 minute walk from the apartment. We easily walked to the Vatican, Castel San'Angelo, and the Spanish Steps as well. We have stayed at apartments throughout Europe and Casa Visconti is one of the best. The fast and courteous email along with the warm welcome from Giovanni is an important quality when renting accomodations. Overall, I would highly recommend this apartment for a stay in Rome.

Having always stayed in Hotels, I was a little apprehensive about getting an apt and wasn't sure what to expect and certainly did not expect to be so impressed and surprised by the whole experience of staying at Casa Visconti. Why was it so great? In no particular order, the location was within walking distance of nearly everywhere/major sites in Rome (its a big place Rome - no apartment is close to everything). We were literally 2 or 3 minutes walk from the Vatican, 5 or 6 minutes to Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Pantheon, Piazza Novana. The only site we didn't walk to was the Colosseum but with a Metro Station just around the corner we got there in less than 10 mins. So yes its very convenient, but beyond that it's actually a beautiful neighbourhood, very local. At no point did we feel like tourists, it felt more like we had just moved to Rome (if only). There are some great restaurants on your doorstep, a few supermarkets and veg, and cheese/meat shops. Everything you could possibly need for a long lazy breakfast before hitting the sites. It is also a clean, safe, wealthier side of town - very comfortable. The apartment itself was very beautiful, before entering you are greeted by huge decadent doors, red carpeted steps, a concierge (who is there during business hours as many of the other apartments are used by businesses such as law firms). The lift is amazing (you'll know what I mean when you see it), once entering the door of your apartment you have your own corridor before arriving at the main rooms. Firstly, the spaciousness is beyond any photo can capture. A lot of buildings in Rome (Hotels I have been too) have very cramped rooms - this is certainly not the case here. There is a wonderful kitchen with all you need for cooking, Clean, comfortable, individually decorated (doesn't look like the IKEA catalogue or a generic hotel room). There is WiFi, a TV (never turned it on but sure it works), washing machine. And dealing with Giovanni was an absolute pleasure from the start. He was quick, efficient in responding to our many requests and queries before arriving and while in Rome was always on hand to help. He even provided us with a wonderful list of his personal favourite restaurants (which we got to many - and he was not wrong). He accommodated our needs regarding late check outs and generally throughout our stay we felt we had a friend we could call on. Thank you Giovanni for your hospitality and your apt. We will be back.

The owners are wonderful people and supply you with a wonderful place to stay at a very reasonable price. The location is within walking distance to everything in Rome and if you are tired very close to the Metro as well. Very elegant apartment with loads of room for our party of six and well supplied so we could make a great dinner there and have room to enjoy it. The owners even arranged transport to and from FCO airport for our party. The driver was more of a tour guide and friend then your transport and the ristorante suggestions of his were perfect. If you do not choose this place stay while in Rome you are missing out.

Our four night stay in this flat was fantastic, Giovanni was pleasant and responsive from first contact via email through departure. He also accommodated a check-out time change. He provided a high chair and baby cot all set-up and ready to go. He was very welcoming and kind to our kids, sometimes landlords can be put-off by having children in their flat so this was very relieving. The place was very clean, well kept, and in good repair. It's on the fourth level and has a lift (which my 3 year old thoroughly enjoyed). We fit three adults (couple + mother in-law) and two children (3 years + 1 year) *very* comfortably. The location is great, the neighbourhood is safe, has a supermarket, fruit shop, shopping, and many restaurants nearby. The metro and Vatican is about a 10 minute walk away. The other major sights are more of a stroll at about 20-25 minutes. We walked to the Colosseum with our kids in carriers the first day without a strain to get a feel for more of the city. It was fine, and you don't go through any seedy parts of town. My wife and I also walked to Trastevare, had a long coffee + a stroll, and walked back in about three hours without ever rushing. Walking out of the apartment was pleasant every morning and going for coffee was great, as you don't hear any English which gave the whole experience a more "authentic" feel rather than staying in a hotel chain in a tourist part of town. All told, if I ever was back in Rome this would be the place that I will stay.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay while vacationing in Rome. First, the location was excellent. Walking distance to all major sites ( vatican, piazza navona, pantheon, etc) Restaurants and bars close to the apartment. Also 10 minute walk to the metro, even though we saw everything by walking and only used the metro once. We were met by Romeo when we arrived at Casa Visconti, he was very helpful. He recommended restaurants and where to eat the best gelato. We took his advise and went to all his recomendations and were very happy with his suggestions. The apartment is very spacious. We were a family of 6 so Two bedrooms and sofa bed with two bathrooms was perfect. Free Wifi and hot water was a plus. There is also an elevator in the building that helped with all our luggage. Although we didn't use the kitchen, it was equipped with refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. There is also a wahing machine which Romeo also explained how to use. I would certainly stay here again. And I think this is the best way to go when staying in Rome and not overpaying at hotels. Great location for half the price of hotels.

If you are looking for a place to stay in Rome that is central to most of the main sites and just a wonderful old style but well kept you will not be able to beat this one. The host is wonderful and willing to help you with transport.

The perfect appartment for a family with 2 teenage girls. This was a clean, beautiful and spacious appartment. Giovanni was very nice and helpful in showing us what was available to us in the area. I recommend this place and hope to return in a near future.

My father and I recently visited Rome. We fortunately chose Casa Visconti as our apartment to stay in and I guess lucky that it was available for the dates we required. The apartment's security is wonderful and it allowed us to feel relaxed about leaving our things in our apartment. This apartment is perfectly located for seeing Rome on foot or going by local transport. It is also situated close to a supermarket which is an additional bonus. The apartment(s) itself was spacious and very well maintained. It is obvious that the owners take great pride in their property. The photos of the property don't capture the wow! factor that my father and I experienced when we entered our apartment. We could not have been more pleased. The owners also offered us a pick up and drop off service. We are so pleased we chose to do this. It took away any fears we had about getting to the apartment and to the airport on departure. Romeo, the man who was there to greet us was exceptional and Dad and I can't speak highly enough of him. We locked ourselves out one day and it was no trouble at all for Romeo to come straight over and help us out. He speaks English very well and helped us enormously with any questions we had. I highly recommend these apartments. The apartments can cater for all size groups. There is a lift so getting up to the apartment was never a problem.

We stayed at Casa Visconti for 2 nights and our experience was great. The apartment is spacious, clean and bright. The layout of the apartment was very convenient for a group, as there is a common dining/living area as well as separate bedrooms to rent, depending on the size of your group. We were a short walk to the Vatican where you can catch a bus to the other sites as well.

Fantastic choice for a family, very clean and located in town. We where walking distance from all important visiting locations. Mercato, pasticerias and restaurants very close. It is ideal for a family, we were greated by Giovanni who is very nice and helpful. We look forward to go back next time we visit Rome.

We are a family of four adults and we rented the apartment with one bedroom and a pullout couch. We found the space a bit cramped with the couch taking up most of the room in front of the kitchen. The photo looks more spacious. I would suggest renting the additional room if possible. Everything was wonderful with the exception of the coffee maker which made ½ cup at a time, and the bed and couch which were both quite uncomfortable. The location was excellent and the apartment was clean. Grocery store nearby. Romeo was most helpful and full of good advice. Take them up on their offer to shuttle you to and from the airport as we were scammed by the city taxi on arrival. Bring napkinsor paper towels and tissues. Best part of the visit - The Bridges Ice Cream near the Vatican. Worth the wait!!!!!!!

A great apartment in a good location. A 15 minute walk to The Spanish Steps and to The Vatican. My daughter and I saw all of the important sights in Rome and never used public transportation. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Dinner at Da Lucia in Trastevere was the best! Thanks too to Romeo for a very entertaining ride to the airport, even though we weren't ready to leave!

Wonderful apartment, close to everything you need to enjoy Rome. Owners were very helpful and accomodating ,apartment is very clean and has all convienances. A short walk to The Vatican , train ,grocery and restaurants. We have been to Italy before , but never to Rome , and this was fabulous. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment , which makes it great for privacy ,since we had two families.The owners arranged for trnasportaion for us both ways from the airport and also brought us a port-a crib for our youngest , very kind and generous! Very clean, well maintained apartment in a quiet neighborhood close to the Vatican. A short walk from the metro, shopping and excellent restaurants. We stayed for a week and look forward to returning soon for another enjoyable vacation!

If you are looking for a well-equipped apartment within easy access of the main attractions of Rome, then this will not disappoint you. It’s quiet and has good size rooms which easily accommodated the four of us. Either by walking or taking the bus or metro, you are very close to the main attractions. A very enjoyable place to stay for a city break. We took advantage of the owners offer of a private transfer from the airport to/from the apartment, well worth the extra.

We stayed in the studio apartment and simply loved it. The apartment was centrally located and extremely comfortably outfitted. The price/location combination for this apartment simply cannot be beat. Would highly recommend to any single person or couple looking for a convenient, comfortable, quiet apartment in the heart of Rome. I immensely enjoyed my stay there, such a convenient location and the interior of the house was very beautiful! Everything was super clean and it was very easy to get around.
